1. Online Marketing Methods to Avoid
_________________________________________
I have tried many different methods to bring traffic
to my websites. I am going to tell you about two that
just don't work, and one that does.
The two that don't work sound great but they're just a
waste of money. I tried them and received a lot of
traffic – but no sales. Traffic without sales is useless
untargeted traffic.
You’ve probably seen the Ads, “Receive 10,000
targeted visitors for $79”. That sounded like a great
deal to me and I signed up. 5 times and $400 later not a single
sale.
Sure my website statistics showed that I had 50,000
visitors, but not one sale. How can this be possible?
This low sales conversion is due to the method used to
send visitors to your site. They buy expired website
domain names that have some links to them in the search
engines. For example, they might buy a website URL that
just expired: www.anexpiredurl.com.
That URL has a couple of links to it from other websites
and is listed in Yahoo.
The mass traffic people point this URL to your site.
When someone clicks on the link for www.anexpiredurl.com
they end up at your site. It is not what they expected
or what they are looking for, so of course, they either
close the browser or click on the back button.
Your website just received 1 visitor, but a fruitless
visitor.
So this method is not good for making sales. It is good
for making your hit counter tick – but that is it.
Start Page Programs is another traffic generation method
that has never produced any sales for me. I’ve received
thousands of visitors but no sales. When I first tried this
method, I thought I might see some sales – but I did not.
Start page programs work like this: When you sign up you
become a member of a pool of websites. Each member modifies the
start page of their browser. The websites are
displayed in a loop, so when you open Internet Explorer
you might be looking at a site for spoon collecting while
the spoon collector is looking at a site for shark repellent.
People set their browser’s start page to the URL that the
startpage program gives you. Every time you see someone else’s
website – someone else sees yours.
I have never bought anything from any of these start pages. I just
close them immediately. Also, I have never had any sales from this,
so I’m assuming that other people just hit their close button
and ignore it as well.
Just throwing your webpage in front of someone – does
not work.
If someone is not looking for what you are selling, it is
very difficult to persuade them to buy simply by flashing
your page in front of them.
Sales generate from people who want what you are selling. So you
must find them.
This specificity is the beauty of Google AdWords. You
can place an Ad for a specific keyword/phrase. You
only pay when someone clicks through your AdWords
Ad. There is a good chance that the person clicking
through the ad will buy the product because they were
searching for that exact product. Using Google AdWords
you helped them find what they were looking for.
“Google Cash” shows you how you can make money by
placing Google AdWords promoting other website’s
products and services. When someone clicks through
your Google AdWords Ad and buys the product you are
promoting – you receive a commission. You don’t have
to
carry any products or worry about order processing, etc.
The websites that you are promoting take care of all of
that. You just send them targeted visitors and earn
commissions when they buy.

2. Google Cash Tip: How to Profit from a crowded niche
_________________________________________
This tip is for users of the Google Cash system.
I used to look primarily for untapped niches and I would
setup Google campaigns there. I still do that, of course, but
I have also adopted a new technique. In the past, when I
did research I would ignore possible campaigns that already had
many Google AdWords competing.
However, I have spent some time looking more deeply into these
“saturated niches” and their AdWords. And now when I
research campaigns I am not so quick to shun these markets.
Here’s why:
I look at the AdWords and see how good of a fit the ad, and their
product is to the actual keyword/s searched. For example, let’s
look at the keyword/phrase: mexico surfing.
Go to Google and search for ‘mexico surfing’. You will
see three adwords:
Surfers Warehouse, Surf at Swell, SurfMaps.com
Read their ads.
None of these AdWords ads are a very tight fit for:
mexico surfing.
I could easily dominate that niche by adding an AdWords ad that
reads:
Mexico Surfing
Mexico surf maps, Travel info,
Mexico Surf Forecasts and more …
Often times I can find very competitive areas that have
poor / broad matches between the keyword, their ad and
their product.
When that is the case - I find a product that fits the
keyword better. Then I write a better, tighter ad (with
the keyword in the title, etc.).
I setup a Google AdWords Campaign and initially pay a higher Cost
Per Click (CPC) than I would like. However, my ad quickly jumps
to the top of the AdWords results and the clicks start rolling in.
And the clicks are coming from very targeted visitors.
As my clicks start coming in I work on refining the ad to
improve my CTR. As the clicks come in and my AdWords ad’s
interest bar (CTR) goes up - I decrease my AdWords’ CPC and
the ad still holds its position since Google AdWords ranks AdWords
both on CPC and user interest (CTR).
A great tool for finding tapped and untapped niches on
Google is the AdWords Analyzer.
Here is how it works. You enter a keyword into the
Analyzer. It automatically shows you:
=> A comprehensive list of all RELATED keyword phrases!
=> The number of searches that were conducted throughout the
previous month for each keyword phrase!
=> The number of advertising campaigns that currently
exist - for both Google AdWords AND Overture!
=> "Supply and demand" by giving you the ratio between
the number of any given keyword search and the number
of related websites so you can make more money in any niche!
You can use the Analyzer to identify high traffic search
terms that no one is buying Google Adwords for. Conversely, the
tool also identifies niches that have a
lot of competition.
You can read more about the AdWords Analyzer and
